Having served God and His people for most of my life, I occasionally find myself reflecting on my personal journey, the balance between duty and self-discovery, and how the two can coexist harmoniously.

As a minister, embracing the duality of duty and self-discovery has helped me grow into my role as a spiritual leader. However, achieving spiritual growth whilst adhering religiously to my duties has not always been straightforward. The challenge lies in reconciling the demands of a dedicated ministry with the personal quest for spiritual enlightenment. 

Nevertheless, I have found that the key to maintaining this delicate balance is recognizing the intrinsic relationship between duty and self-discovery. Duty, in this context, is our responsibility to serve God and our community, and it can often act as the catalyst for profound self-discovery. It's within fulfilling these responsibilities that we come to truly understand our spiritual capacities and witness our potential for growth and compassion.

As ministers, our duties are primarily outward-oriented, whether it is preaching, community service, or pastoral care. Yet, through these actions, we learn more about ourselves, our faith and our relationship with God. We wrestle with different ideologies, answer challenging questions, and in the process, not only unravel the mysteries of our faith but also discover our spiritual identity.

As we journey together in this communal space, I hope my experiences inspire you to reflect on your own balance between duty and self-discovery. After all, we are all part of this grand, divine scheme, and much of what we learn comes from the sharing of experiences and communal growth. So, as we continue on this shared voyage of faith, know that we’re not alone, and our intertwined growth is what truly matters.
